The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is a positive, uplifting story which respects the Christian faith and shows the power of forgiveness and community in turning a person away from a negative past. The film contains no sex or foul language, and violence is only implied in the Passion play’s crucifixion scene (an actor is shown wearing stage blood, then having it washed off him). Religion is treated respectfully; while the members of the church are shown to have individual quirks, they are also portrayed as individuals of decency and integrity.

For its timely message of the importance of family, forgiveness, and faith, the Parents Television Council is proud to award The Resurrection of Gavin Stone with the PTC Seal of Approval ®. The PTC recommends this movie for viewers over age seven.

“We loved the movie! We loved the humor, the whole story line... It accurately captured the culture of a modern church in a warm and authentic way, which I really appreciated. It also helped us think about the experience of a non Christian who first walks into church. I watched with my wife and two of my teenage kids, we all loved it.”

- Rusty Russell, Pastor, New Day Christian Church, Florida

“I highly recommend that you go see The Resurrection of Gavin Stone and please take your kids. Today, more than ever, we need to be reminded about what and who is most important. And it’s not us. It’s Jesus Christ.”

- Legendary College Basketball Coach Mike Jarvis

"The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is a one-of-a-kind movie. I’ve never seen a faith-based film that tastefully mixed comedy and a presentation of the gospel so well. It gives a clear picture of how Jesus can change anyone's life — even celebrities! And the Christian innuendos make the movie even funnier. As the story developed, I found myself wanting to know what happens even more. It really drew me in."

- David Boudia, Olympic Gold Medalist Diver & Author of "Better Than Gold

GAVIN STONE was fantastic and uplifting! The end was phenomenal where you could just see the light click on in his head, and his heart. The light of Jesus! Thank you God!

- Lorri Smith

The Resurrection of Gavin Stone was an amazing story of GRACE being offered by the local church.  For many who have not had a positive experience with church this is a reminder that they should give it another try as the church truly is the hands and feet of Christ.

- Ryan, Pittsburgh

Even though I'm a Christian, I don't always typically share Christian events with my Non-Christian friends and family. I feel like movies are a common ground territory and an easier way to get someone curious about Jesus.Gavin Stone was was funny, whimsical, and also had a great story line. It got the point across on what it means to be a Christian.

Nicole Gruber

The movie had everything I could ask for. Wonderful good clean humor, inspiration and hope. What a delightful experience.

We loved "The resurrection of Gavin Stone".I saw it with my mother in law and 11 year old daughter and we all loved it. It definitely was cross generational and was a great message of second chances.  We really loved how it showed the difference between God's love and the world's love in a humorous and human way.

- K Erdner

"The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is a wonderfully inspiring movie for the whole family! It's an entertaining movie that provides great discussions for families about putting others first, sharing our talents, being true to yourself and following the teachings of Jesus Christ. As Gavin learns to put the needs of the whole congregation before himself, he learns what it truly means to be a disciple of Christ. This is not easy for him, nor is it easy for any of us--a great opportunity to discuss with kids what it means to do what is right versus doing what is easy.”

Got to see a sneak preview of the Vertical Church Films movie “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” tonight. I expected it to be painfully cheesy and unrealistic, like many faith-based films can be, but my expectations were not met (in the best way). The plot was genuinely interesting, the actors were believable, and the production was such high-quality (plus it was fun to see people and places I know so well on the big screen!). We’ll definitely be heading to the theaters on January 20th to see it again!”

- Kellee Kole

"This is a movie that we will bring our non-churchgoing friends to, and they won't feel manipulated."

- Pastor Joshua Skogerboe, St Olaf Lutheran Church

"The Resurrection of Gavin Stone was surprisingly funny and full of truth! It was a very honest representation of Christian fellowship and leadership."

- DeeDee Trotter, Olympic Gold and Bronze Medalist Sprinter

"There’s a lot of confusion today about what the church of Jesus Christ actually does. Teaching is available to answer that question, but a picture is worth a thousand words, and The Resurrection of Gavin Stone paints a compelling portrait of all that Christ intended his church to be. Watch and be revived in your confidence that the church of Jesus Christ is the hope of the world."

- Dr. James MacDonald, Senior Pastor, Harvest Bible Chapel

"Wow. Amazing. Hilarious and touching. Most enjoyable movie I have watched in ages."

- Allan Parker, President, The Justice Foundation

"I loved The Resurrection of Gavin Stone. I laughed out loud, and then wept during the scenes where he finally saw the real grace of God."

- Former Governor Mike Huckabee

"I found this film to be delightfully inspiring for anyone who believes in second chances coupled with several lessons to be learned by all. It’s depicted in such a fun and light setting with a subtle, old-fashioned romantic undertone. I simply loved it!"

- Gloria Gaynor, Grammy Winning Artist, "I Will Survive"

"Loved the movie! It was more than expected. Loved the church humor and how it captured the truth of what many people think about Christians, yet was real without making Christians seem perfect."

- Melissa Montana, STAR 88.3 (Fort Wayne, IN)

"It's one of the few faith-based films that made me laugh out loud as well as shed a genuine tear.”

- Chris Fabry, Host of Chris Fabry Live! on Salem Radio (Chicago, IL)

“Gavin Stone' is an upbeat, engaging film about one man’s ultimate redemption.”

- Bob Waliszewski, Focus On The Family (Colorado Springs, CO)

"Loved Gavin Stone! All the new wine and none of the cheese normally associated with Christian films.”

- Mike Parker, BuddyHollywood.com (Nashville, TN)

“I loved this movie because it talks about second chances. As God’s people, we are to give people grace, but ultimately God’s grace pulls us through. Gavin was able to learn not just about the church, but about how it’s easier to make the right choices when you have the right people and the right God watching over you.”

- Tamika Catchings, Former WNBA MVP, Four-Time Olympic Gold Medalist & Author of Catch A Star

"Finally a movie that is entertaining, well-made technically, and has a good storyline. 'The Resurrection of Gavin Stone' is better than the last 10 movies I've seen on the big screen."

- Jose Alvarez Familylife speaker, retired MLB pitcher
