Why does Intex pool cover have holes?
For safety reasons; if someone should end up under the pool cover, air will come in through the holes. These small holes prevent a large pool of water from getting on the pool cover. All Intex pool covers have these safety holes, except for the covers for the Family Swim Center Pools.
How do I stop my Intex pool cover from blowing off?
The best way to prevent large build ups of ice is to keep the water level on top of the pool cover to a minimum. You will want to keep a half inch of water on top of the pool cover to keep it from blowing during heavy winds.
Why does my pool cover keep coming off?
Strong winds, heavy rain, and branches or debris can cause many covers to slip off. You can prevent this by using a few accessories to keep your pool cover firmly in place.
How do I keep my above ground pool cover from blowing in wind?
Some folks weigh down the cable, with milk jugs or use our Wall Bags, which is fine for moderate winds. The best options to keep out heavy winds are either Cover Seal (shown) or Cover Clips, both made for this purpose, with the added benefit of keeping your cover taut and smooth all winter.
How tight should my above ground pool cover be?
A small bit (1/4″-1/2″) of rain water is OK, but more than that could stress the cover, and 6-12″ of water will push pool water over the edges, lowering pool water (see above). Pump regularly with a pool cover pump like our manual or automatic 350 GPH pump or the non-electric Cover Saver siphon pump (shown).
Do you put water on top of pool cover?
The best way to keep your winter cover on your pool is simply to maintain 2 inches of water on top of it and keep it free of leaves and other debris and monitor the water level inside the pool regularly.

How often should I Shock my Intex pool?
We always recommend shocking your Intex pool at a minimum of twice a month, but preferably once a week. It usually especially needs to be shocked after a change in weather or when you’ve had a lot of swimmers. This is a simple process that just requires following the directions on the product container.
