Does Salou have an old town?
While Salou as a whole has many shopping zones, the Old Town area contains some shops, which are as old as Salou has been a holiday resort. The Jaume I Promenade and Major Street areas are more modern shopping areas, containing many restaurants and terrace cafes underneath a canopy of palm trees.
Is Salou a family holiday?

salou is a very nice place, its family friendly . . on the prom there are maize fountains that the kids can run through.. and the fountains light up at nite and dance to music its a nice walk along he prom . there is only ONE arcade centre on the prom front . the beach area is lovely .!! .
Is Salou tacky?
Salou is not Benidorm etc. Apart from anything Salou is smaller. It’s not tacky although it’s probably impossible to have a holiday resort that doesn’t have a little tackiness. Brits are also in the minority.
What airport do you fly to for Salou?
Reus Airport
Reus Airport is the closest airport to Salou, and you can fly there from London in just over two hours.
Is Salou better than Benidorm?
Whilst I love Benidorm, Salou is much more chilled out and a bit more family orientated. Salou is more of a chill out holiday for us. Benidorm will be full of stags hens in April/May so Salou may be the better choice for your little one that time of year, although a few degrees cooler than the Costa Blanca.
Is Salou safe?
Salou is known for its low crime rates. The only main point to note is to keep an eye on your belongings when on the beach and not leave them unattended. With regards to nightlife there’s safety in numbers, the same as with anywhere. Just make sure you’re always in a group and you’ll be sure to have a fantastic time.
